We’re excited to share a milestone: AjoHomes has completed its first property acquisition through the Pod model — a property in London, Ontario, purchased entirely through member contributions in our first Custom Pod.
This wasn’t a demo, a projection, or a “coming soon.” Real members pooled real capital, in unit sizes ranging from a quarter unit up to multiple full units, and together they now own a stake in a property that none of them would necessarily have taken on alone.
How it came together
The London, Ontario Pod was opened as a Custom Pod — meaning the property was identified up front, with a fixed price and a fixed number of available units. Members reviewed the opportunity, selected the number of units they wanted, completed identity verification, and transferred their funds directly rather than going through a recurring savings plan. Because units could be purchased in fractions, members were able to size their position to what actually made sense for them, whether that was a small toehold or a larger stake.
What it means for members
Every member who contributed now holds a tracked ownership stake proportional to the units they purchased, visible from their AjoHomes dashboard. As the property generates value — whether through rental income or eventual appreciation and sale — returns will flow back to members in proportion to their units.
What’s next
London, Ontario is our first property, not our last. We’re already evaluating future opportunities for both new Custom Pods and properties for members currently building toward a goal through a Savings Pod. If you want to be ready when the next opportunity opens, now is a good time to create an account and get verified so you can move quickly when it does.
Thank you to every member who backed this first Pod — this is exactly the kind of collective ownership AjoHomes was built to make possible.
