When new members reach the identity verification step on AjoHomes, we sometimes get the same question: “Why do I need to do this before I can just pick my units and invest?”
It’s a fair question, and the answer comes down to one thing: a Pod only works if every member can trust that everyone else in it is who they say they are.
What verification protects
- Your funds. Because Pods pool real money from multiple people into a shared position, verifying identity helps prevent fraud and unauthorized use of the platform.
- Your fellow members. Every member relies on the group being made up of real, verifiable people — not anonymous accounts. Verification keeps the community trustworthy.
- The Pod itself. The banking and payment partners we work with require identity verification as a condition of handling pooled investment funds. Skipping it isn’t an option if we want to keep those relationships secure and compliant.
What the process actually involves
Verification is handled through a secure, encrypted identity check: you confirm your personal details and complete a quick photo-based verification step. We don’t store more information than we need, and the check typically takes just a few minutes.
What to do if something goes wrong
Occasionally a verification attempt gets interrupted — a browser tab closes mid-process, a connection drops during the photo step, and so on. If that happens to you, don’t worry: log back in and pick up where you left off. If your status still looks stuck after a few minutes, reach out to our support team at support@ajohomes.com and we’ll check on it directly.
Verification is a one-time step that unlocks every Pod on the platform going forward — a small bit of friction upfront that keeps every Pod safe for everyone in it.
